Why do teens like to stay up so late? What is it about the night that entices activism? Why do more teens stay up late instead of going to bed early? It's an interesting question. My theory is that teens don't like to end things so staying up late is one way of doing that. Haha, as I post this blog it is at 3:36 AM. So, now you understand where this question came from.
Oh well, it's one of the mysteries we shall never really know.
It makes you wonder...

Good question, I'll research it and devote my next blog entry to it.
I really like the layout, good job
Haha, I took some ideas from your blog though ;)
Hmm, I think you're right about not wanting to end something as being at least one factor in why teens stay up late. I frequently stay up simply because there are things I want to get done, and I haven't fallen over dead from lack of sleep yet, so why not keep going. xp
But also, (in a less literal sense) sleep is a form of letting go of the world around us, more than we do when we're awake. And when things so often change for teens (and I don't necessarily mean because of adolescence, but also just due to it's being a time when your life begins to shift, from "kid" to someone who has to make their own decisions and choose their way), "letting go" can be hard, for subconscious reasons, if not for realized ones. And while I recognize that there are plenty of teens who who are eager for that kind of change, I think any person would be speaking untruthfully to themselves if they didn't admit some fear/sorrow as well.
Then of course there are plenty of other factors that probably should weigh in as well. Such as learned habits. If you know someone who stays up late (and even moreso if someone in your family does) then you're likely to take up that trait just as you might take up a certain phrase or mannerism.
Anyway, interesting question, thank you for posing it.
